Dance has been a method of expression for centuries. Did people realize or not, but  dance and people’s gracious movements always have been playing more important role than just an expression. Scientists found a strong, healing connection of human body and mind through dance movements.

In UK, dance as a form of therapy dates back to the nineteenth century, long before the first wave of interest to dance therapy in the U.S. The idea of dance movement therapy was introduced to the United States in 1940 by “The Grand Dame”, Marian Chace, professional dancer and choreographer.

How DMT (dance movement therapy) can help people to strengthen the body and mind connection through the body movements? How mental and physical abilities and well-being of individuals are improved with help of a dance? We’ll talk about it in my next post, but now please click on the link below, relax and enjoy watching  video “The Art of Ballet” as the best example of a healthy mind/body connection. Ballet, music and singing by Andrea Bocelli are healing, natural medicines.
