My mission is to share with you a treasure of useful information I’ve garnered from the wisdom of my Grandma (an accomplished herbalist and folk healer) and Mama (a medical professional), combined with my own research and formal education, including the study of natural remedies from fifteenth-century herbal books through current advances in the field. Are you looking for solutions? Here they are, straight from Mother Nature, the world’s first and true healer.
“Svetlana Konnikova has penned an important book using the wisdom of the ages for the age in which we live. The suggestions in this volume bring fruitful advice and invaluable worth. Everyone will benefit from these jewels of understanding and I am sure you will be rewarded as I was after embracing many of these natural prescriptions.”–Anna Maria Clement, PhD, NMD, Codirector and Chief Health Administrator of Hippocrates Health Institute
Dr. Peter A. Gail, a well known botanist, author of books and articles on creative living and edible wild plants and founder of Goosefoot Acres Center of Resourceful Living said about this book,:
“…a wonderful volume that I can highly recommend. It in many ways is like Plain and Happy Living that recounts not only a wide variety of natural remedies, but how they were learned at the feet of [the author's] mother and grandmother, with a wonderful potpourri of folk and fairy tales, and modern and ancient science interspersed between. Most fascinating to me is the number of common fruits and vegetables for which she suggests medical uses — beets, onions, garden radishes, plums, potatoes and many others–in addition to the uses for a full range of backyard weeds–dandelion, burdock, chamomile, rose hips, black elder, nettles, mallows and many others. That is one of the delights of reading Eastern European writers–they grow up knowing, and using, the healing properties as well as the food properties of a mich wider variety of domestic and wild plants than do most Americans.”
If you rely on doctors, they will be more than happy to write you any prescription for a well advertised drug. It will just suppress your condition, but may not necessarily treat it. There are no guarantees, of course, except for side-effects.
Chemical drugs such as sedatives and stimulants may give you initial relief. The body’s response to them often varies or changes. The little pill you popped a few months ago to take the edge off or put you to sleep may now make you nervous, dizzy, or prone to insomnia or cause other adverse side effects.
The natural remedy revolution is here!
Did you know that more than one-third of U.S. citizens use natural medicine today? The government has suggested that more and more people should become interested in herbs, meditation, yoga, and other forms of alternative medicine because they don’t see positive results very often with conventional care.
Researchers in one of the largest U.S. studies conducted on alternative medicine pointed to the fact that more people are using today herbal medicine, and an increasing number of people have turned to natural products like herbs, fruits, vegetables, or enzymes to help chronic or recurring pain.
Does it make any sense to you to stay out of this increasingly popular Green Movement? Our ancestors survived by being smart and keeping themselves healthy with help from Mother Nature. Most of us come into this world as healthy human beings. We are built to be solid, strong, and energetic. We are intended to live a long and healthy life, but only on one condition: we must take our health into our hands and maintain the knowledge of how to do that.
This is exactly what you can find in the book Mama’s Home Remedies, a handy and must-to-have guide to the curative and preventative qualities of herbs, plants, fruits, berries and vegetables, which can safely treat our ailments and prevent further diseases, weaknesses, or hopelessness from wreaking havos in our lives. We must take control of our health while we are still healthy.
Many medical research organizations are not proponents of preventative medicine because their work is based on illness. This sad truth is well described in the article, “The Life That Is Costing Hundreds of Billions of Dollars,” published by a health organization in New Zealand: “There is no money to be made from healthy people….This is why the medical and research establishments are not in the least interested in prevention (practically all diseases are preventable).”
Preventative care is the solution to disease. It can keep us healthy and free of illnesses. We can do it! We just have to learn how to do it. The answer is in Mama’s Home Remedies.
“A power-packed volume of the wisdom of ages placing generations of knowledge and practice into everyone’s hands. Mama’s Home Remedies delivers a healthy dose of common sense and common remedies touched with folklore, quotes and even superstitions.“–Lynnette Walther, columnist, The Herald Tribune, Village Soup
